C'River: Southern British High School Clinches 1st Position In National Mathematics Competition

Southern British High School (SBHS), alabar-based Hi-Tech school, has emerged the over all best in a national mathematics tournament in the junior secondary schools category.
Information available to THE BEAGLE NEWS states that the competition, organized by Catalyst Consulting Limited, Lagos - Nigeria for select schools across the country featured Schools in the lower and upper primary, junior and senior secondary schools categories.
Miss Ambo Amanda Antigha, a JSS 2 student from Southern British High School grabbed the ultimate prize after scoring 50/50 to defeat six other pupils drawn from other competing schools for the highly coveted prize.
SBHS was closely followed by Saint Gregory College Lagos, Barakat College, Oyo state and Layola Jesuit Memorial College, Rivers who finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
Recall that in December, 2023 SBHS emerged overall best in an Essay competition organized by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission by defeating a total of 1,200 Schools to earned the first prize pegged at N300,000.
Commenting on the development, the Executive Director of the School, Dr (Mrs) Oluwaseun Fakorede said she was elated by the victory and applauded the students for making the school proud.
Dr Fakorede described the victory as well-deserved in view of the competent academic hands paraded by the school, coupled with the cozy and conducive learning environment.
According to her "the victory is an eloquent testimony of what we are doing in SBHS given our curriculum which is carefully crafted to meet national and global standards in Education."
The Southern British High School is located at 15 Rotimi Amaechi Avenue, off Tinapa Road, Calabar.
