C'River; Police Nabs Third Suspect In Kidnap Of Car Dealer's Spouse

As part of ongoing intensified efforts to rid Cross River state of criminal elements, the State Police Command has nabbed a total of three suspects allegedly involved in the kidnap of one Mrs Aliu, said to be the wife of a Calabar-based car dealer.
According to the Police Command in Cross River, the kidnapping syndicate is believed to be responsible for series of abductions in Calabar which have left residents of the state capital living in pepertual fear in recent times.
The Beagle News recalled that the Command, through its Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad (ACKS) led by SP Chukwuma Ogini, had on Tuesday this week arrested two members of the four-man gang linked to the crime.
The latest suspect identified as Gabriel James who operates a laundry shop along Edibe Edibe Street in Calabar South Local Government Area, was apprehended on Tuesday night during a manhunt for the remaining suspects on the run.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Irene Ugbo who confirmed the arrest revealed that the suspect has offered useful information regarding his role in the abduction of the victim. According to Ugbo, "He has confessed that he participated in several abductions including that of Mrs Aliu.
The suspect has also confessed to receive his share of the ransom paid by Mrs Aliu's husband via an account that was provided by the leader of their gang. "He will be charged to court alongside two others already in our custody, having been arrested in the early hours of Tuesday," Irene posited
