C'River Central, North Reps Sponsor Bill For Creation Of Ogoja State

The member representing Ogoja Yala federal constituency, Hon. Godwin Ofiono, has called for the amendment of the constitution to pave the way for the creation of Ogoja state.
Ofiono in his bill on the floor of the House of Representatives, is seeking to amend section 3 of the constitution by increasing the number of states in Nigeria from 36 to 37.
The bill, co-sponsored by member representing Obudu, Bekwara, Obanliku Federal Constituency Peter Akpanke, member representing Obubra-Etung Federal Constituency Michael Etaba, member representing Abi-Yakurr, Alex Egbona and member representing Ikom-Boki Victor Abang i has been seeking headlines of late in the National Assembly as Cross River state legislators seek the creation of Ogoja state.
The proposed state will cover all local government areas in Central and northern Cross River state with its capital in Ogoja.
