Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has warned the 27 commissioner or Special Adviser nominees not celebrate their appointment in Uyo.
Eno said any appointee who does that would be dropped, advising them to rather go to their company mmunities and celebrate their appointments with their communities and kinsmen
To ensure compliance, the Governor has
detailed security agencies to ensure that none of the 27 commissioner or special adviser nominees celebrate his or her appointment in Uyo, the state capital.
The governor vowed that the name of such official flouting his directive would be dropped within 24 hours.
Rather, he directed the yet-to-be-screened and confirmed appointees to return to their respective local government areas to celebrate their nominations with their people.
The governor, therefore, has instructed the Director of Security to monitor compliance and report any nominee who chooses to hold his or her celebration in Uyo for immediate action.
Governor Eno, who handed down the order on Thursday during the inauguration of the Bureau of Statistics Board, Labour and Industrial Committee at the Government House said the directive stemmed from government’s desire to ensure that appointees have strong ties with the grassroots.
“Any nominee, except those from Uyo, who disregards this directive and celebrates in the capital will be sacked within 24 hours,” he warned.
