C' River APC Chieftain Hails Sony Abang, Larry Odey Over Appointments Into South-South Dev Commission

Former Cross River State All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. John Ochalla, has congratulated H.E. Ambassador Sunny Abang and H.E., Rt Hon. Larry Odey on their appointments as Executive Director (Finance) and Commissioner representing Cross River State in the South-South Development Commission ( SSDC)
Ochala in a WhatsApp message sent to THE BEAGLE NEWS dated May 9, 2025, described the duo as square pegs in square holes, advising them to use their wealth of experience to reposition the brand new commission.
The terse message reads: Congratulations to the duo in the new commission. Your dedication, expertise, and leadership have earned you this well-deserved recognition.
"We're proud to see these distinguished sons of Cross River State excel in roles that will drive progress and development in the region.
"Wishing you both success and wisdom as you embark on this new chapter, leveraging your skills to foster growth and prosperity for the South-South region and beyond!
"We are confident you will make Cross River State proud, as this is a hallmark of your personalities."
The Board members are Chibudom Nwuche as chairman of the South South Development Commission, and Usoro Akpabio, who is from Akwa Ibom, as the managing director.
Also appointed to the board are Marcus Eji (Rivers), Aganaba Steven (Bayelsa), Timi Ayibatonye (Delta), Joseph Ugheoke (Edo), and Sony Abang (Cross River).
Other members include Larry Odey (Cross River), Charles Zuofa (Bayelsa), Nkereuwem Ebong(Akwa Ibom), Chika Chinedu (Rivers), Femi Oise (Edo), Charles Enukhowhate (Delta), Tijani Kaura(north-west), Tabitha Sallah (north-east), Yusuf Amao (north-central), Joseph Mmamal (south-east), and Bukonola Braimoh (south-west).
