BREAKING... WIKE VS FUBARA: 27 Rivers Assembly Members Dump PDP For APC

The battle over who controls Rivers state politics have taken a new turn as 27 House of Assembly members loyal to Minister of FCT have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The lawmakers reportedly announced their defection on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Assembly Complex. They were all elected on the platform of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections. 

The former Governor of Rivers, Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his political god-son have been in cold war for over weeks now.

The defection now sets the stage for full political battle ahead of 2027 general election.

A few weeks back, the APC national leadership dissolved the Rivers State chapter Executive Committee and replaced them with persons loyal to Wike.
