BREAKING... UNICROSS SSANU, NASU, NAAT Declare 3 Days Warning Strike Effective Monday, August 19

The Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NASU and NAAT, University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has embarked on a three day warning strike to drive home their demands.
The warning strike takes effect from Monday, August 19,2024 through Wednesday August 21, 2024.
A statement signed by SSANU chairman, Come. Mark Enang Ayo, JAC/NAAT chairman, Comr Vincent Etta, and JAC Secretary, Comr prince E. BASSEY, and made available to THE BEAGLE NEWS titled NOTICE OF WARNING STRIKE, read in part: "Its on record that, we have express our grievances through various correspondences dated June 11,2024, July 15,2024 and August 7,2024, which gave TWENTY ONE days, FOURTEEN days and SEVEN days notices respectively without any action taken on the issues in dispute raised therein. "
The Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NASU and NAAT having exhausted the procedure for trade dispute declaration embarks on a three day warning strike with effect from Monday August 19, 2024 through Wednesday August 21, 2024.
"The warning strike is intended to send a message of neglect, hardship and pains faced by Staff of the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS over the years.
"The key issues in dispute include poor funding to the University through subvention; Non implementation of25 and 35 percent Consequential Salary Adjustment, which our sister University (UNICAL) as well as other Universities are enjoying: non payment of approved palliative to UNICROSS staff.
"Absence of Capital Projects by the State Government from inception of the University and encroachment by the host community into the University land across the four Campuses with it's adverse Security challenges.
"It noted that unions are critical stakeholders and partners in the growth and development of the University and as such, our interest must not be Compromised.
"Based on the above, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SSANU, NASU and NAAT withdraws the services of her members throughout the period of the warning strike."
