The Newly-Elected council chairman of Obanliku local local government area, Dr. Sunday Ayang, has been hospitalised over unknown illness.

Ayang was elected chairman of Obanliku on Saturday, November 2, 2024 and was subsequently sworn-in alongside other 17  chairmen on Monday,  All Progressives Congress (APC) won the whole 18 seats and 196 counilorship wards in the state.

Investigations by THE BEAGLE NEWS revealed that Dr. Ayang was billed to inaugurate the Legislative arm of the Obanliku Council about 3:pm on Monday, November 11, 2024 but could not show up for hours for inscrutable reasons.

It was learnt that the inauguration was shifted to the following day and the chairman could not still show up, fueling speculation that something is wrong.

This prompted some council appointed council officers to ask questions about Ayang's where about. Further enquiries revealed that the chairman was allegedly struck by stroke on Monday a few hours to the inauguration.

A dependable family source confided in our reporter that Ayang has not been feeling too well of recent and was struck by an unknown illness shortly after his inauguration.

The source said "the illness got to the climax when Ayang was hit by stroke on Monday while preparing for the Legislative inauguration and was quickly rushed to a private clinic for medical attention."

The Legislative arm was later inaugurates by the Clerk of the Legislature, THE BEAGLE NEWS can authoritatively reveal.

As at the time of filling this report, this paper has it on good authority that Ayang is still hospitalised while the vice Chairman has been holding brief for him.
