AUDA NEPAD: Cross River, 6 Other States Set To Implement Small Holder's Farmers Initiative
Cross River State and Six other States in the Country have been selected as pilot States from the 36 States and the FCT for the implementation of the African Union Development Agency New Partnership for Africa Development (AUDA NEPAD), Nigeria Innovative Strengthening of the Small Holder's Farmers Initiative for Land Restoration and Food Security.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Calabar,the State Co-ordinator of AUDA NEPAD and Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Interventions and Grants, Dr. Michael Nku Abuo stated that the emergence of Cross River among the 7 pilot States in the country, was the result of hard work and commitment of his team members,adding that this was backed with the huge support of Governor Bassey Edet Otu and his positive disposition towards the project.
Dr Abuo pointed out that already,the State's Commissioners for Finance and Agriculture,Mr. Michael Odere and Mr. Johnson Ebokpo as well as the AUDA NEPAD Cross River State Co-ordinator, Dr Abuo has just concluded a special strategic Action Support Meeting in Abuja on Thursday,8th August, 2024 where modalities for the holistic approach for full implementation of the project in the selected pilot States have been worked.
The State AUDA NEPAD Coordinator lauded Governor Otu for his dynamic and pragmatic foresight in supporting people oriented initiatives such as the Innovative Strengthening of the Small Holder's Farmers Initiative for Land Restoration and Food Security in Nigeria, assuring that Cross River State and her people would take full advantage of the Initiative and benefit maximally from it.
