Akwa Ibom: Good Samaritan Donates Two Water Projects to QIC Leprosy Hospital Etinan

It was a moment of joy and celebration on Sunday, 26th January 2025, at QIC Leprosy Hospital, Ekpene Obom, Etinan Local Government Area, as Evang. Great Otosin, through his magnanimity and commitment to give back to humanity, built and donated two borehole facilities to the QIC Leprosy Hospital hospital, Etinan.
As part of the activities to mark this year's World Leprosy Day, the coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Patrick Essiet, in her remarks said the state government, through her office, will continue to contribute its quota to support the management and inmates of the hospital.
She donated some cash and relief materials like food items, detergent, and toiletries to the inmates and commended the donor of the water projects, Evang. Great Otosin for his act of benevolence towards the hospital, describing him as a man with a compassionate heart.
She called on corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to always remember those inmates in their thoughts.
The donor, Evang. Otosin, the Chairman/CEO of Life Savers Foundation, a non-governmental organisation and who doubled as the chairman of the occasion, in his speech, said he was highly delighted and fulfilled that the said-water projects have come to reality, explaining that it takes him a lot of resources for the projects to see the light of the day.
He said he was spurred on embark on the project after a cursory assessment to identify that the hospital needed water, saying that water is life even as promised to continue as an evangelist in supporting the inmates of the hospital.
He disclosed that arrangements on to engage a caterer to cook food at least once a day for the inmates, calling on government to providing the needed facilities in the hospital
