Fubara Reverses Le Meridian's C of O Revoked By Wike

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has canceled the revocation of Le Meridian Hotels Limited (Ogeyi Place), located at Plot 319, GRA Phase II, Port Harcourt owned by former military governor of Rivers State, General Anthony Stephen Ukpo.

Recall that the Certificate of Occupancy of the said hotel was revoked in December 2022 by ex-Governor Nyesom Wike for allegedly hosting a meeting involving associates of the 2023 PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Rivers State citing alleged non-payment of ground fees over a period of years as reasons for revocation.

The Fubara administration has however announced the cancellation of the revocation in a newspaper publication, citing that the original revocation by the last administration was “made in error”.

Political pundits and analyst however maintain that the decision to cancel the revocation is not unconnected to the the recent political tensions a
