C'River First Lady Settles Hospital Bills Of Electrocution Victims

The Wife of Cross River Governor, Rev. Mrs.Eyoanwan Otu, has settled the hospital bills of two traders currently on admission for treatment of multiple burns after they were almost electrocuted along Chamely, Calabar South on Saturday.
The gesture was announced by the First Lady when she visited the victims, Chijioke Udoji and Uzoma Anthony, at the General Hospital in Calabar in the company of the lawmaker representing Calabar South I in the State Assembly, Hon. Effiong Ekarika.
Mrs Otu who was represented by Dr. Mrs. Inyang Asibong, said the visit was meant to demonstrate government concern for the plight of the victims According to her" We are thankful to God that our brothers survived the horrific death through electrocution.
Our visit here is meant to demonstrate the priority the present government attaches to the well-being of our people.
Government will liaise with relevant agencies to ensure this episode does not repeat itself.
Enough is enough" Recall that Mr. Chijioke Udoji and Uzoma Anthony, both traders at Chamley in Calabar South, cheated death by the whiskers after they suffered severe electrical burns last Saturday evening when a high-tension cable snapped and fell on their shops before exploding into flame.
The First Lady's gesture was supported by Hon Effiong Ekarika who donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira towards the welfare of the duo.
