2027: Plot To Oust Tinubu Thickens As Opposition Fine-Tunes Merger Deal

From Abdul SULE, ABUJA

POLITICAL gladiators from the opposition spectrum  across the six geo-political zones are working assiduously round the clock in an attempt to fine-tune a mega political merger intended to float a formidable force to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC

Indications to the high tactical scheme gained credence when the Special Assistant on media to the former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Abdulrasheed Shehu, disclosed that the proposed merger deal between opposition parties to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 “has been sealed.”

Shehu, who stated this via his verified Twitter handle recently, said the alliance between the major opposition figures “is just about time.”

Giving vent to on-going merger, a close ally of Atiku, who hails from South East, confided in THE BEAGLE NEWS that the deal is certain and top politicians across parties are said to use the Yuletide to mobilise stakeholders at various levels of party structure.

According to the former member of the House of Representatives, there is a think-tank group that is fine tuning the merger deals to ensure that once it takes off, there won't be loopholes for ruling party to exploit.

He added that this time it will be a political tsunami of sort as Nigerians are disenchanted at the APC's style of governance that has inflicted unbearable pains on the people.

He stated that some top APC, PDP, LP and NNPP leaders, especially across the Northerns zones  and South South and South East are actively involved in the midwife process, explaining that APC will be shell-shocked once the merger party rolls out because of the calibres of people behind the deal.

He said:"We have been in this game and we know how to go about it. Tinubu's Presidency have become arrogant with power. We also know he has the capacity to fight back. So, we are placing all cards on the table to ensure the Presidency doesn't penetrate this time.

"Some of involved in the merger have tasted Tinubu's stick-and-carrot style of politicking and will resist it this time round. I bet you, Nigerians will see a different brand of politicking.

"A meaningful merger among the opposition supporters is the only viable option to unseat the APC in 2027. And we are almost done with it," he stated.

In 2024, Ismael Ahmed, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, addressed the potential impact of a coalition.

Speaking on the Mic on Podcast, Ahmed, who previously served as a special assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on the National Social Development Programme, described an alliance between Obi and Atiku as a “potential threat.”

This development comes on the heels of Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential hopeful, criticising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the state of the nation.

Obi expressed concerns over purported institutional corruption, mismanagement, poverty, hardship, and an escalating debt profile.

Although he admitted that there was no merger deal currently, the former Anambra State governor appealed to all lovers of Nigeria, irrespective of political affiliation, to unite and challenge the ruling APC.
