2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Sports Minister Demands Victory Against Zimbabwe

The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to look into and correct all the lapses that led to the poor performance of the Super Eagles in their Thursday outing against Lesotho in order to come out better against Zimbabwe on Sunday,19,Nov.
Senator Enoh said the government and football lovers across the country take the qualification for the 2026 world cup very seriously and would expect the Super Eagles to come out victorious noting that having missed out on the 2022 world cup in Qatar qualifying for the 2026 World cup is not negotiable.
Enoh who said the performance against the Likuena of Lesotho fell short of Nigerians expectations charged the Super Eagles to be more incisive for the rest of the qualifying series.
Speaking on television rights, the Sports boss observed that though broadcast rights are in the purview of the world football governing body ,FIFA granted that the Ministry is taking appropriate steps to address the situation it's not good enough that Nigerians could not watch their National Team in their country and called on NFF to register Nigeria's displeasure with FIFA and apologized to Nigerians who anticipated to watch the match live on television.
