2024 IWD: Foundation Celebrates Mothers In Cross River

The Ikpa Nta Elijah Henshaw Foundation has celebrated mothers in Cross River State as part of its outreach programme.

The Celebration took place at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Wesley Cathedral during this year's Motherly Sunday Service.

As part of activities, the Ikpa Nta Elijah Henshaw Foundation donated wrappers to mothers to celebrate the day and in appreciation of their efforts to the overall development of the society.

Arit Okon Nden, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation said the idea of donating wrappers to the mothers is because they place a very high value on the item.

According to her, "Wrappers have to do with mothers and they need them, they value wrappers more than any other thing.

"They love this item and use it frequently so this is also why we choose to distribute these wrappers to them.

"It is not easy to be a woman, these women are the ones taking care of this world, they take care of their homes and the world will be a more difficult place without them", she said.

She said the foundation is all about helping people and their activities also cover offering scholarships like in the Henshaw Town Primary School where fifteen children who could not afford to pay for common entrance examination were granted succor through the foundation.

She added tbag besides mothers and less privileged children, the foundation also supports single mothers who have no place to stay as well as the the girl child.
