Morocco Declared AFCON 2025 Winner, Awarded 3–0 Victory as Senegal Receives Sanctions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board has ruled that Senegal forfeited the TotalEnergies AFCON final, officially awarding Morocco a 3–0 victory and the 2025 championship.

CAF said Senegal’s conduct breached Articles 82 and 84 of tournament regulations, triggering the forfeiture.

Morocco also received sanctions for crowd incidents, ball‑boy conduct and interference near the VAR area.

Midfielder Ismaël Saibari was handed a two‑match ban (one suspended), while a previous fine was overturned.

The verdict reverses an earlier disciplinary decision and marks one of AFCON’s most dramatic post‑final rulings.
