Jarigbe Pays Tribute to Community Leader, Mrs Orim, Donates N10m to Catholic Church

The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Ijad paid glowing Tribute to late Mrs. Rose Obla Orim, mother-in-law of Lieutenant General Undiandeye, describing the deceased as a mother figure, mentor, and a woman of remarkable character.
Jarigbe, who joined other dignitaries including the Governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye, at funeral mass held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Utugwang, Obudu local government area, Cross River, said late Mrs Orim played a significant role in his life and in the wider Ogoja community, where she lived and impacted many lives.
In his condolence message, the Senator eulogised Mrs. Rose Obla Orim as a pillar of strength, wisdom, faith, and leadership, whose exemplary life and enduring legacy will continue to inspire generations.
He said her contributions to the development and wellbeing of Cross River North, particularly the Ogoja community, would remain indelible, noting that the late Mrs. Orim was deeply interested in the development of her community and was always pleased to hear about positive developments and progress in the area.
According to him, her greatest legacy was reflected in the lives of her children, whom she raised in the fear of God and guided towards a life of service, discipline, and responsibility.
“Everything she heard was about development and the progress of the people. Mama was deeply interested in development. She has left a lasting legacy in her children. She took them to the Lord, and that is the fulcrum of their preservation,” Jarigbe said.
In recognition of her commitment to faith and community development, Jarigbe donated the sum of N10m in support of the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church building project.
The donation, he noted, was not only a gesture of condolence but also a contribution towards sustaining the values of faith, community, and service that the late Mrs. Orim represented throughout her lifetime.
Jarigbe, who further commiserated with the entire Orim and Undiandeye families, praying that God would give them the strength to preserve the enduring legacy of their beloved mother and matriarch.
The funeral attracted family members, political leaders, community leaders, friends, associates, and well-wishers, who came to pay the last respect to late Mrs Orim.
