IPEMEHEHE 2026: Ukeh Cares Foundation Celebrates Young Tailoring Apprentices

As part of activities marking the Bekwarra New Yam Festival, (Ipemehehe) 2026, a non governmental, not for profit organization Ukeh Cares Community Foundation has carried out a special outreach to tailoring apprentices in selected shops across Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The initiative, done in collaboration with the Mr. & Miss Ipemehe 2026 project, was aimed at celebrating and encouraging young people building a future through skills acquisition and vocational training.

Speaking during the outreach, Founder of the Foundation, Mrs. Ukeh Omang, said the gesture was to recognize youths who have chosen the path of self-reliance.

"These young apprentices may be starting small today, but they represent the fashion designers, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals of tomorrow not only within the community but across Nigeria and the world,” Mrs. Omang stated.

She added that every young person who commits to learning a skill deserves encouragement and support to stay focused and productive.

According to the Foundation, the outreach was more than a New Yam celebration but a celebration of hard work, resilience, skill, and the potential of young people.

Through the gesture, the Foundation said it hopes to inspire the apprentices to keep learning, keep working, and keep believing in themselves, with the reminder that their efforts today can become the foundation for a successful future.
