International Day of the Girl Child: NGOs Empower 50 Girls in Cross River

In celebration of the international day of the girl child, two non-governmental organizations, Firm Girl Initiative and UKEH Cares Foundation, have launched a weeklong capacity-building training program for girls in Cross River State.

The program, themed "The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead; Girls on the Front Line of Crisis," aims to equip girls with AI innovation skills and empower them to become leaders.

The training, which began on October 11, features fifty girls selected from across the state to participate in the program which will cover topics such as empowering girls through AI innovation, building confidence, and digital power.

The founder of Ukeh Care Foundation, Mrs. Ukeh Omang while speaking to newsmen emphasized the importance of empowering girls with skills to lead and make a difference in their communities.

“The future belongs to the confident and skilled, the world needs your story, your strength, and your leadership. If you want to be the change, you need the skills to lead,” she declared.
