IINBDA Honours Prof. Edde Iji with Lifetime Achievement Award

The International Institute of Nation Builders and Development Ambassadors has honoured a scholar, sage, and stagecraft supremo, Prof. Edde Iji, with a Lifetime Achievement Award in education and public service.
In a ceremony which was held recently at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, the award according to the organisers, was in recognition and appreciation of the university’s don incalculable contributions in the areas of education and public service.
Prof. Edde Iji who recently turned 77 years old, is a Professor of Theatre Arts and Media Studies at the University of Calabar where he has been teaching for over three decades. An erudite scholar, Iji has made invaluable contributions to knowledge through teaching, researching, supervision of projects, theses and dissertations, as well as his publications gazetted in both local and international journals and his books are read in different parts of the world.
Also honoured for his meritorious services in public life, Iji has served as a Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources (1987-1988), Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Town Planning (1988-1989), and Commissioner for Information and Culture (1989-1990), in Cross River State.
