Ibom Air, Air Peace, ValueJet 8 Other Airlines Banned by NCAA Over Unpaid Debt
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has ordered its directorates to stop providing services to 11 domestic airlines until they clear outstanding debts.
In a memo titled Updated List of Airlines on No-Pay-No-Service released on May 22, 2026, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Olufemi Odukoya, listed the affected airlines as Air Peace, Ibom Air, Arik Air, United Nigeria Airlines, Umza Air, NGeagle Airline, Max Air, Caverton Helicopters, Overland Airways, Rano Air, and ValueJet.
NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo directed that no service be rendered to the airlines without clearance from the Directorate of Finance and Accounts.
The move according to authorities is aimed at recovering Aviation consultant unpaid funds which include 5% Ticket Sales Charge, a statutory levy paid by passengers and meant to be remitted to the NCAA, not used to cover airline operating costs.
