I Remain Loyal, I Won't Add Desperation To Politics Despite Being Sidelined - Ayade

Former Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Benedict Ayade, has penned down a heartfelt note expressing his feelings after the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) Rally in Cross River State.

The former governor who joined fellow leaders and thousands of supporters of the, APC, on Monday in Calabar for the Presidential Campaign Rally in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu, took to his verified social media handle to respond to critics and social commentators who criticize him of being sidelined and rendered irrelevant in the present administration.

He maintained that despite not being a beneficiary after leaving office as Governor, he remains loyal to the party and committed to it's success in the forthcoming polls.

He added that true leadership is about patience and love, even in provocation as his growth came without spilling blood, rather he walks away from internal fights.

"I do not have to be a beneficiary to show commitment. I do not have to fight when the wind is not blowing in my favour. True leadership is showing patience and love, even in the face of abusive provocation" he said.

"My growth thus far came without a fight. I walk away from cannibalistic and internal fights. One day, the Ogoja Nation will understand why I show love even to my haters".

"God has been fair to me: a lawyer, a senator, a governor, a wealthy man, an inventor, a professor, a knight and 100% healthy. My wife is a British-certified doctor, and my children are British-certified lawyers. To add desperation, fights and crudity to my politics is ingratitude to God".

"Those who imagine I should go for a fight should first beat my attainments before they can be in a position to advise me. I got to where I am without spilling a single drop of blood," he added.

The former Governor called for unity and sustained grassroots engagement, stating that beyond the colours and cheers witnessed at the campaign, the strength of the APC in Cross River State lies in its unity, conviction and willingness to work together, an enthusiasm which must be carried into the communities.
