Haaland Scores 100th Premier League Career Goal
By Akpo Esco
Erling Haaland has made history by becoming the fastest player to score 100 Premier League goals, achieving the feat in just 111 matches for Manchester City. Haaland broke Alan Shearer's long-standing record, who reached 100 goals in 124 matches. The Norwegian striker scored his 100th goal in the 17th minute of City's 5-4 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, where he received a perfect pass from Jeremy Doku and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Haaland's incredible goal-scoring record continues to impress, with 15 goals in 14 games this season and 36 goals in his debut season, breaking the record for most goals in a single Premier League campaign. His manager, Pep Guardiola, praised Haaland's performance, saying, "If you told me when he arrived that he'd score 100 goals in 111 games, I'd say, 'Are you sure?' The numbers are insane".
According to him, "I’m proud and happy to get to 100 PL goals. But when you're a striker for City, you should be delivering great numbers. And that's my job”.
“People should criticise me if I don't score, that's normally what people do so in the end, as I said, I should deliver!”.
Haaland joins an elite list of players who have scored at least 100 Premier League goals, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero, and Thierry Henry. With 160 goals behind Alan Shearer's record of 260, Haaland is poised to break more records in the future.
