EXCLUSIVE: Abductors of Businesswoman in Calabar Demand N70m Ransom

THE abductors of middle-aged businesswoman in Calabar have demanded N70m ransom for her release from their den, THE BEAGLES NEWS can authoritatively report.
The abductors called the family two days ago barely one week after the lady was whisked away from her shop premises at Bassey Duke Street in Calabar South.
According to sources close to the family, the kidnappers call has eased off some tension among friends and well wishes who have expressed worry at the state of health of the victim.
However, the family members were said to have pleaded with the abductors to release their breadwinner because of her health condition.
Security sources told THE BEAGLE NEWS that some suspects are in the security net and helping in the investigations.
Recall that the lady, a businesswoman and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Joekate Enterprise located at Bassey Duke street, was kidnapped on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 around 8:00 p.m.
The lady was said to be relaxing with friends while waiting for workers close the shop after the day's businesses.
Eye witness account has it that hoodlums, numbering over five and armed to the teeth, led by a woman. stormed the shop and forced her into a waiting vehicle.
According to the account, the victim resisted and cried for help, but the abductors overpowered her and quickly whisked her away.
Passersby reportedly attempted to intervene but were repelled as the kidnappers fired several shots into the air to disperse the crowd.
