Etung Council Chairman Celebrates One Year in Office With Thanksgiving Service

The Chairman of Etung Local Government Council, Hon. Henry Anom, has marked his first anniversary in office with a thanksgiving service held at the Etung Council Secretariat in Efraya.
The event, which also coincided with his birthday, drew a large gathering of top political leaders, business personalities, and stakeholders from across Etung and beyond.
Speaking at the thanksgiving, the council boss attributed his emergence as chairman to a divine calling from God, highlighting his extensive service to Etung Council from the grassroots level as a councilor, leader of council, and secretary of council before assuming the top office.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, noting that November holds special significance as the month of his swearing-in and birthday.
"God is my source of strength that is why I have decided to return to God in this anniversary that is why I'm using this opportunity to raise funds for the building of a new Catholic church at my village Mkpot, I'm believing that at the end of my tenure I'll invite you all for a thanksgiving at Mkpot" he said.
Rev. Father Gabriel Inah, in his homily, emphasized that leadership is a call to serve, and leaders will be held accountable for their stewardship.
He encouraged the Chairman to reflect on his first year, learn from the challenges, and strive for excellence in his remaining days in office.
Representing the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, the Deputy Chief of staff Boniface Okache praised Chairman Anom's performance, citing accolades from various quarters, including the clergy.
He urged the chairman to continue on the path of serving the people, aligning with the Otu led administration's people first agenda.
Former Special Adviser to the President on Informal Sector and Chairman of the occasion Prince Ebuta Ayuk commended the unity and togetherness in Etung political circle which he attributed to the Chairman's success.
He emphasized the importance of putting God first in all endeavors and called on the political class to support the chairman in bringing development and dividends to Etung.
The thanksgiving service culminated in a fundraising event for the construction of the new Catholic church in Mkpot and cutting of cake to mark the chairman's birthday and one year in office.
