ESD MEDIA PROFESSIONALS TRAIN MEMBERS ON PROFITABLE DIGITAL SKILLS, SCORE SENATOR EKONG SAMPSON HIGH ON PERFORMANCE

As a pathway for self-sufficiency in the biting Nigerian economy, journalists and some cross sections of media bloggers under the umbrella of Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals have been trained on the theme 'turning media skills into profitable income-generating business' as well as 'using tech writing or blogging as a pathway to financial independence'.
The training workshop which took place yesterday at Eden Hotels Limited, Eket, afforded the participants the ample opportunity to re-engineer their minds as entrepreneurs in their skills.
Addressing the participants, the National Chairman of the group, Elder Edet Okpo, Ph.D., in his remarks charged beneficiaries to take due advantage of the training.
"As media practitioners, it is imperative we stay updated with digital tools and trends to remain relevant in the competitive global media arena. An entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on creativity, innovation, and problem-solving, will enable us to thrive in this landscape," he said.
Elder Okpo seized the opportunity and was optimistic over the sterling quality and performance of the Distinguished Senator Ekong Sampson, Ph.D., representing Akwa Ibom South in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja, describing his representative and leadership disposition as pragmatic, result-orientated and people-centred.He commended the distinguished senator for co-sponsoring the seminar after his recent efforts in facilitating the training of members of the group through The Nigerian Press Council, while noting that such a gesture could only come from a media-friendly person, advocating that media professionals in Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District should continue to rally round the senator with the needed support.
"Let me, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Executive Council and the entire members of the Association of Akwa Ibom South (Eket) Senatorial District Media Professionals, commend Distinguished Senator Ekong Sampson, Ph.D., and officially express our deep satisfaction with his representation at the national level, in the mainstream of the nation's politics, and for providing not only quality representation but also raising the bar in performance in the core mandate of his duties of lawmaking and oversight." He said.
Speaking in the same vein, the BOT Chairman of the association, Dr Essien Ndueso, Ph.D., said he was delighted to witness the epochal event, maintaining that the media space is evolving, and beyond the primary duty of informing, educating, advocacy and entertainment, media professionals should avail themselves and explore the new dynamics in making profitable income within the media space.
He spoke in glowing terms about the Distinguished Senator Ekong Sampson, asserting that it is pertinent for Akwa Ibom South to produce a ranking Senator in 2027, noting that the hallmark of attracting more dividends of democracy to people is by producing a ranking Senator in the person of Senator Ekong Sampson, Ph.D., come 2027.
