Digital Contract Procurement System Will Curb Irregularities Says NDDC Rep

The Cross River State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Rt. Hon. Orok Otu Duke, has called on residents of the state to leverage the Commission’s digital procurement platform for contract processes.

Duke spoke at the close of a training on “Policy Reforms and Digitalization of the NDDC Procurement System” held in Calabar. He said the training was crucial to eliminating unwholesome practices in contract procurement.

“The digitalization of our procurement system will ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the award of contracts,” Duke stated.

Guest lecturers, comprising seasoned academics and legal practitioners, delivered in-depth sessions on the policy. They took participants through step-by-step procurement procedures and explained the legal frameworks guiding the policy documents.

The sessions were designed to equip citizens with best practices for overall benefits, the organisers said.

The training, themed Promoting Best Procurement Practices and Digital System for NDDC drew participants from the business community, policy makers, and the media.
