The State Chairman, *Ntufam Ekum Ekok Ojogu*, and the entire State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cross River State, extend heartfelt felicitations to a distinguished stateswoman, humanitarian, and the revered Eka Iban Ke Efik Eburutu, *Dame Senator Princess Florence Ita-Giwa, OON*, on the occasion of her 80th birthday anniversary.

‎For eight decades, Senator Ita-Giwa has shown courage, resilience, and visionary leadership. From her early career as a professional healthcare representative to her historic tenure as a Member of the House of Representatives, two-term Senator, Deputy Senate Minority Leader, and Presidential Adviser, she has consistently championed equity, national unity, and the empowerment of women, youth, and marginalized communities.

‎Her dedication to public service includes pivotal contributions to national institutions, governance, and education. She served as Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, chaired the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ugep, and played a transformative role in Cross River State politics, notably championing the “Back to South” initiative and supporting the People's First Agenda of the Prince Bassey Edet Otu-led administration.

‎Renowned as “Mama Bakassi” for her advocacy for displaced persons following the cession of the Bakassi Peninsula, Senator Ita-Giwa has also been a custodian of Efik cultural heritage, elevating the global prominence of Cross River State and inspiring generations through mentorship, leadership, and humanitarian service.

‎On this milestone occasion, we celebrate a living legend, whose extraordinary achievements, grace, faith, and dedication define a life worthy of emulation. We pray she continues to impact lives, nurture leaders and transform generations in health, peace and happiness.
