By Ekanem Asuquo
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has commended the management and staff of Obudu Ranch Resort for their dedication and commitment to restoring the facility to its status as a prime tourism destination of global repute.
The governor made this known while presenting Christmas gifts to the workers, an exercise carried out on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Obudu Ranch Resort, Mr. Sunday Michael. He praised the staff for their tenacity and resilience in driving the administration’s tourism revitalisation agenda despite the challenging condition in which the resort was inherited from the previous administration.
Governor Otu described the Christmas gifts as tokens of appreciation and recognition of the workers’ dedication and selfless service toward achieving set goals within stipulated timelines.
The package from the governor included four cows and fifteen bags of rice for the resort’s workforce to enable them celebrate the festive season in good cheer.
Speaking on behalf of management, the Group General Manager of Obudu Ranch Resort, Mr. Ekeng Ewa Ekeng, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Otu for the gesture, describing it as a major morale booster for staff. He also commended the Special Adviser for his purposeful leadership and consistent support for workers’ welfare.
According to Ekeng, the governor’s action reflects a people oriented leadership style that values and rewards hard work, particularly during a season of love and sharing.
Staff members who spoke said the Christmas gesture has further strengthened their resolve to remain committed to improving service delivery and enhancing the status of Obudu Ranch Resort as a major tourism hub in Cross River State.
