C’River Assembly Confirms LG Service Commission Members, LG Auditor-General

The Cross River State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Local Government Service Commission, as well as the Auditor-General for Local Governments.

The confirmation was announced during Thursday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, following the successful screening of the nominees forwarded by the Governor, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu.

Those confirmed include Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo as Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ekeng Effiong Edet as Commissioner I, Dr. Emmanuel Itakui Ntuyan as Commissioner II, Barr. Godwin Ondale Akpor as Commissioner III, Hon. Obia Lawrence Bassey as Commissioner IV, Hon. Rita Ayim as Commissioner V, and Hon. John Olom Otu as Commissioner VI.

The confirmations followed the presentation and consideration of the report of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions, and Conflict Resolution headed by Rt. Hon. Davies Eta, who screened the nominees and recommended them for Confirmation by the House.

The House also confirmed Mr. Bassey Abam Eko as the Auditor-General for Local Governments.
