Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he personally reached out to Antonín Kinský after Tottenham’s recent match, offering encouragement following the goalkeeper’s difficult moment in the game.
Speaking after the match, the Real Madrid goalkeeper said mistakes are part of every goalkeeper’s career and shared his own experiences.
“After the Tottenham game, I contacted Antonín Kinský because I also made mistakes at Atlético Madrid and at Chelsea FC,” Courtois said.
“I was even nutmegged twice by Lionel Messi.”
Courtois explained that he advised the young goalkeeper to remain confident and learn from the experience.
“I told him he has to learn from this. Life is hard sometimes, but he must remain confident — that’s the way.”
The Belgian international also highlighted the pressure goalkeepers face on the pitch.
“The goalkeeper position is very vulnerable. When we make mistakes, it usually ends in a goal.”
Courtois further urged Tottenham supporters and teammates to continue backing the goalkeeper.
“I ask Tottenham to support him, and his teammates should support him as well.”
The gesture has been widely praised by fans as a show of sportsmanship and leadership.
