APC Yet to Release Authentic List of National Assembly Candidates In C'River
Confusion continues to surround the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly primaries in Cross River State, as the party is yet to officially release an authentic list of its candidates for the 2027 general elections.
Despite various lists and results circulating on social media and some online platforms, recent developments from the APC national headquarters have further reinforced concerns that no official list has been released by the party.
Recently, some paid aides in government circles have been circulating fake news that one of the disqualified candidates, Oden Ewa, may have been cleared.
But dependable source close to the APC National Secretariat revealed that the news making rounds on Social Media that a certain candidate been declared winner is absolutely fake and the height of desperation and deception, adding that as at the time of filing this report, the APC Official Twitter Handle still has Oden Ewa as being disqualified among other 43 senatorial aspirants across the country.
Recall that, In a press statement from APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the alert categorically dismissed a purported “Concluded List of APC Senatorial Candidates So Far” circulating in the public space, describing it as fake and unauthorised.
According to the statement, the APC clarified that the list did not emanate from the party and urged members, stakeholders, the media, and the general public to disregard it in its entirety.
The statement further emphasised that only the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, acting through its duly authorized channels, possesses the authority to announce candidates emerging from the party’s primary elections and other constitutionally prescribed processes.
This official disclaimer lends significant weight to claims by several aspirants and stakeholders who have maintained that the various results and candidate lists currently in circulation cannot be regarded as final or authentic. It also raises serious questions about attempts by interested parties to create a false impression that the party has already concluded and ratified its National Assembly nominations.
With the National Publicity Secretary’s disclaimer now on record, it is increasingly evident that the APC has not yet released an authentic and final list of National Assembly candidates for Cross River State, contrary to claims being promoted in some quarters.
