AKWA IBOM COUNCIL:NUJ CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES EX OFFICIO MEMBERS
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John has announced Comrades Sunday Bassey of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN and Anthony Esin of the Sensor Chapel as Ex officio members of the Union.
With this appointment, the leadership structure of the State Working Committee of the Union is now complete.
Comrade Esin previously served as Vice Chairman of the Sensor Chapel, while Comrade Bassey also served at different times as Vice Chairman of the Correspondent Chapel.
Receiving the duo into the SWC during a meeting held on Thursday at the Press Centre, Information Drive Uyo, the State NUJ Chairman, Comrade John, commended them as seasoned journalists with a high sense of professionalism. He noted that their emergence was based on the unanimous consent of relevant stakeholders and leaders of the union.
Comrade Nsibiet charged the new SWC members to demonstrate commitment, diligence, and dedication in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities, in line with the ideals of the union.
With their induction, the SWC, which had operated with nine members since the NUJ election conducted in August last year, is now fully constituted with a total of eleven Exco members.
