By Imoh Essien (Uyo)
It was a moment of joy, reconciliation, and goodwill messages yesterday during an enlarged meeting of executive members and stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement (RHGM), held at Friends Hotels and Suites, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The meeting was attended by the cream of members across all arms of the organisation. Setting the tone at the meeting, the South-South Zonal Coordinator, Elder Martin Sampson, in his welcome remarks, said he was delighted to witness the large turnout of members, describing the gesture as a welcome development.
He admonished members to continue holding to the aims and objectives of the group, which include grassroots mass mobilisation of support for the 2nd term bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the new State Coordinator, Prince Christopher Udo Ntatam. The zonal coordinator, Elder Sampson, expressed optimism that members would give the new state coordinator maximum support to enable him to succeed in his new role, describing Prince Ntatam as a man with intellectual prowess and capacity to deliver.
He commended the outgoing State Coordinator, Dr. Mrs. Grace Ekpo, who has been elevated to the position of National Ex-officio, pointing out that her performance and commitment while she served as state coordinator were profoundly fantastic, focusing on the mandate that drives the group to where it is today. He advised the new State Coordinator to emulate his predecessor and work assiduously to move the group forward in the state. He reminded members to prepare effectively for the upcoming South-South inauguration.
The new State Coordinator, Prince Ntatam, thanked and welcomed all members, promising to work in collaboration with all for unity and progress of the group at all levels, appreciating the national leaders of the organisation for the confidence reposed in him to serve as the State Coordinator of RHGM in Akwa Ibom State. He thanked his predecessor for the foundation she laid, adding that she had done well while serving as State Coordinator. He promised all members wonderful and better days ahead.
Several members, including Local Government Coordinators, spoke in glowing terms about the way forward for the organisation, assuring that they would all work together with the new State Coordinator for the betterment and success of the group.
