34th Iragbigi Day 2025: Celebrating Culture, Boosting Aragbigi-land's Reputation, Says PC-NCG Boss
As the Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola plays host to the 34th Iragbigi Day 2025 Cultural Festival, holding on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Iragbigi Civic Center in Osun State, the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Provisionary Committee of the proposed Nigerian Coast Guard (PC-NCG), Captain Noah Ichaba says the annual Iragbigi Day Celebration 2025 will furrher enhance the reputation and attractiveness of Aragbigi-land.
Captain Ichaba described the theme of this year's celebrations: Expanding our frontiers as apt.
He said: Going by this year’s theme: "Expanding Our Frontiers, may the indigenes of Iragbigi extend their achievements into new areas and may this year’s celebration attract good opportunities and enduring unity for all sons and daughters of the land.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs & Commications, Dr. Piriye Kiyaramo in Abuja on Friday, November 14, 2025, Captain Ichaba sent felicitations to the Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Chief His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, HRM, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (JP), Odundun IV of Aragbigi-land, the Iragbigi Development Association and the Planning Committee on this historic occasion.
"The Provisionary Committee of the proposed Nigerian Coast Guard (PC-NCG), warmly and
joyfully joins the indigenes of Iragbigi, home town of prominently Distinguished sons and daughters among whom is the Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, in celebrating the 34th Iragbigi Day 2025 Day."
According to the PC-NCG Boss, local festivals foster a sense of community pride and social cohesion among residents, helping to preserve and promote local traditions, languages, and crafts, while strengthening cultural identity, informing that community festivals also serve as platforms for educating visitors about local history, customs, and arts.
"The need for event infrastructure often leads to improvements in local facilities and public spaces.
Successful festivals enhance the reputation and attractiveness of a location, encouraging future tourism and investment.
"Festivals can promote diversity and inclusivity by bringing together people from different backgrounds. They provide opportunities for local artists, performers, and artisans to showcase their work and gain recognition. Cultural activities can improve mental health, reduce stress, and promote social interactions," Captain Ichaba noted.
