24 Year Old Cultist Arrested in Calabar for Robbery

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 24 years old boy Fode Bassey robbery, cultism, and unlawful possession of firearm in Calabar.
Bassey was arrested On 1st April 2026 following a report of an attack on one Edim by four youths with cutlassses and a locally made pistol in Calabar.
The assailants, stole a bag containing a Delight solar battery valued at One Hundred and Eighty-Five Thousand Naira (₦185,000.00) as well as cash totaling Three Hundred and Twenty-Six Thousand Naira (₦326,000.00).
A statement made available to newsmen signed by The Cross River state police command public relations officer (PPRO) Sunday Eitokpah said the police tracked and arrested one of the assailants named Fode Bassey who is currently in police custody.
According to the statement, the suspect confessed to the crime and revealing that he and his accomplices are members of the Vikings Secret Cult while a locally fabricated pistol was recovered from his possession.
The PPRO hinted that Investigation is still ongoing, with intense efforts to apprehend the remaining gang members.
The Police however reassured Cross Riverians of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property across the State while urging them to remain vigilant and provide any useful information to aid ongoing investigations.
