2027: Group Hails Igariwey's Adoption As APC Consensus Candidate For Afikpo/Edda Reps Race, Vows Support For Gov. Nwifuru

The Afikpo Renaissance Movement has hailed the adoption of Rt.Hon Iduma Igariwey as the All Progressives Congress ( APC) Consensus candidate For Afikpo North/Edda federal constituency ahead of party primaries. 

Besides, the group has vowed to massively mobilise support the re-election of Governor Francis Nwifuru- and President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027.

The group made up of mostly businessmen and academics in diaspora commended Governor Nwifuru and other critical stakeholders for taking a bold decision to return Okpudo to the NASS in spite of some protestations by a few individuals who preached sentiment against merit and performance.

In a statement issued at the weekend, the group’s spokesperson, Chief Michael Agha, said: The emergence o Chief Igariwey as the consensus candidate to contest under the platform of the APC for Afikpo and Edda Federal Constituency is a well-deserved victory not only for him but for all stakeholders across the state.

"The adoption is of Igariwey is commendable and is in line with the people's wish for a sellable, committed and consummate candidate who can give the constituency and the state quality representation and in turn attract dividends of democracy to the entire state.

According to the group, the National Assembly is a place where communities send their most capable representatives who can effectively speak for the people, attract development projects, and deliver democratic dividends.

" Igariwey has exceeded expectations in office, citing his efforts in attracting infrastructure across the constituency, empowering constituents, and promoting political stability. We would soon embark on door-to-door grassroots campaign to secure his re election.

"We, therefore, pledge our support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 elections, commending their leadership and performance."
