PRESS RELEASE: CROSS RIVER STATE COMMAND NCoS CELEBRATES, DECORATES 225 OFFICERS
The Nigerian Correctional Service, Cross River State Command, on 8 January 2026, celebrated and decorated 225 recently promoted officers across various ranks in the state formation, marking a milestone in their professional careers. The symbolic ceremony was held at the State Headquarters Office in Calabar.
The Controller of Corrections, Cross River State Command, Aniekan Archibong Nya, expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the indefatigable Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, for their leadership and unwavering commitment to staff and inmate welfare since his appointment as the 3rd substantive Controller General of Corrections.
Controller Nya welcomed Service Commanders, their representatives, distinguished guests, family, and friends. He congratulated all newly promoted officers on their well-deserved promotions and emphasised some key benefits of promotion, which include:

The newly promoted Deputy Controller of Corrections in charge of Operations, B. C. Ohuka, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to Almighty God, the Honourable Minister of Interior Dr. Ojo, and the Controller General of Corrections for the promotions. He pledged continued loyalty and unwavering commitment to the mandates, rules, and regulations of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
