With the prevalence of the “Japa” syndrome which keeps depleting the population of the country as a lot of Nigerians keep migrating to other parts of the world in search of greener pastures, our Executive Editor, Anthony Ekpo Bassey, interacted with several Nigerians in diaspora to sample their thoughts and wishes for their home country and compatriots back home, in the year 2025.
MY WISH FOR NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS IN 2025:
Maeeeeeen!
To be very honest with you, I really don’t care anymore. It’s kind of suffocating; To keep my mind sane, I just care about what happens to my family and friends. I pray everyday for them and also support them in any way I can. Outside this, I really don’t care about what Nigeria becomes.
Like you know, I was always very passionate about the affairs of Nigeria and was really hoping we could see a better Nigeria someday but it’s gets worse everyday and the residents of Nigeria don’t seem to worry too much. I had to ask myself; if the people who live in Nigeria are not too worried about how bad Nigeria is, why should I?
I wish her well and hope that things get better. Nigeria has everything it takes to be a great nation!

As a proud Nigerian living in the diaspora, my hopes for Nigeria and Nigerians in 2025 are filled with optimism and positivity. I envision a nation where unity, peace, and prosperity are the norm. May our leaders strive for sustainable development, ensuring that every Nigerian has access to quality education, healthcare, and opportunities for growth. I dream of a future where our rich cultural heritage is celebrated, and our diversity is recognized as our greatest strength.
Here’s to a brighter, more prosperous Nigeria in 2025 and beyond!

My wish for Nigeria and Nigerians ahead of 2025 is for our nation to rise above division and fully embrace unity, justice, and equity. I hope for strong, transparent governance that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens, both at home and in the diaspora. May Nigeria unlock its vast potential through sustainable economic growth, education reform, and a commitment to innovation and excellence. Above all, I wish for peace, security, and a renewed sense of hope for every Nigerian, wherever they may be.

My wish for Nigerian is good governance, building of refinery to reduce high cost of fuel which leads to high cost of living.
Investing more on Agriculture to increase supply of food in the country.
Checking the economy and making the Naira stronger. We need a younger and very active President who will be able to shoulder the activities of the nation.
