Stakeholders of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Alumni Association, have resolved the lingering crisis which had lasted since the Association's 2019 elections and have unanimously resolved to support Comrade Eyam Abeng to peacefully complete his tenure, billed to end on December 12th, 2023.

In a six-paragraphed resolutions presented to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Austin Angba, weekend, the Stakeholders unanimously agreed to put an end to the crisis and pushed for immediate amendment of the Association's Constitution in the coming weeks to swiftly address all the gaps identified to be the root causes of the crisis.

The high profile Steering Peace Committee was presided over by Comrade Engr. (Dr.) Jerome Egbe, with Comrades Castro Ezama, Agbiji Mbeh, Ofut Ogar and Patricia Okoi as co- facilitators.

Leaders of the factional groups, Comrades Paul Agwu and Bartholomew Edom, who were co-cotestants for the office of the president alongside Comr. Eyam Abeng in the 2019 elections, both expressed their readiness and commitment to abide by the decision of the Stakeholders as the were equally tired of the continued imbroglio that has bedevilled the Association.

The stakeholders also called on Comrade Abeng to use the period under review to build a conducive environment and mentor the next successor for the exalted Alumni position.

The stakeholders recounted the pains and severe damages the prolonged crisis has done to the image of the Association and pleaded with aggrieved parties to sheath their swords, embrace peace and unity in the interest of the body.

Others present at the meeting were Dr. Barr. Ukam Ngwu, National Legal Adviser of the Association, Dr. Inyali Peter, National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Otu. Comrades Eno Thompson, John Odaji, Njang Ndoma, Ajoma Williams, among others, graced the high-profile meeting with their esteemed presence.
