UNICAL VC Relieves HOD Fine, Applied Arts Of Appointment Over Failure To Present Students For 36th Convocation

The vice chancellor of the university of Calabar Prof Florence Obi has relieved the Head of Department of Fine and Applied Arts Prof. Victor Ecoma of his position as HOD.
According to a release signed by the school registrar Mr. Gilbert Egbe, Prof. Ecoma was relieved of his position due to his failure to present students of his department for the just concluded 36th convocation ceremony.
The release while describing the act by Prof. Ecoma as an act of negligence to duty and display of incompetence, directed him to handover all properties of the institution in his possession and vacate the office with immediate effect.
In the same vein, the vice chancellor of the university Prof Florence Obi has appointed Prof. Echeta Christian Chimezie as the substantive Head Of Department Of Fine And Applied Arts.
The notice of appointment which was contained in an official letter signed by the Director Of Administration, Vice Chancellors Office Dr. Citizen Ini Ekpo stated that the appointment was for a period of 3 years with effect from march 28 2024.
The new head of department is however urged to be in sync with university regulations especially as it concerns result management.
