The group stated that Barr. Vena Ikem blatantly disregarded the established zoning formula within the PDP, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among party members which contributed to electoral losses and wanton defections of prominent party faithfuls to the ruling party in the  state.

They accused the Chairman of demonstrating dictatorial leadership style by exerting undue influence over the State Working Committee, thereby undermining their autonomy and diminishing their effectiveness which led to  the PDP suffering unprecedented losses in 15 out of 18 local government areas during the 2023 general elections which is a stark departure from the party's historical performance in the state.

They however pointed out that the state chairman played anti party against the party's presidential candidate at the last presidential elections which they described as a case of disloyalty, distrust, sabotage and gross misconduct.

The group called for the immediate removal of Barr. Venatius Ikem as State Party Chairman citing that his continuous stay as chairman poses a serious threat to the party's integrity.
