Our source revealed that Pastor George’s tenure expired since October 2023, and based on the constitution of The Apostolic Church, he should have stepped down and called for an election, a development they said might not happen anytime soon.

The leaders of the church also alleged that throughout Apostle George’s two term superintendency, no executive meeting was held , as there were no minutes to prove otherwise.

The clerics cited marginalization and neglect of Pastors from Ibesikpo Asutan and Nsit Atai Local Government Areas as another act alleged to have been committed by him.

They recalled that Apostle George had once ordered that non-indigenes of Uyo Local Government Area who were serving at The Apostolic Church, 69 Oron Road, Uyo, should leave the church to their respective places of origin.

“Pastor George has brought in tribal sentiments into the church. He once pronounced that all non-indigenes of Uyo in The Apostolic Church, 69 Oron Road, Uyo, should leave the church and go to their villages.”

Additional information gathered also indicated that the church has resorted to using national constitution as a result of the suspension of the constitution used hitherto by the state.

In view of this, it was disclosed, the tenure of Apostle George cannot be said to have elapsed, not up until the lifting of the suspension of the constitution of the state, or a directive from the national body of the church.
