Senator Williams Urges Cross Riverians To Trust In Otu's Vision

The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams has called on Cross Riverians to maintain their confidence in Governor Otu’s administration, assuring them that he is committed to the state’s progress and will not disappoint.
He made the call in his office on Tuesday, at the National Assembly, Abuja, during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the office of the Cross River National Assembly Matters, led by the Special Adviser, Hon. Chris Mbu-Ogar.
Highlighting the significant developmental strides witnessed in Cross River, Senator Williams emphasized that Governor Otu is successfully implementing his 'People First' agenda.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his inclusive, unprejudiced approach to governance, stating that, “The Governor is a veteran; his 12 years in the National Assembly have prepared him well for his role as our leader.”
While speaking on employment opportunities, Senator Williams assured that he is actively advocating to ensure that Cross Riverians receive their fair share at the federal level. He described the delegation's visit as a crucial reminder for all stakeholders to rally around the Otu-led administration in order to enhance its success.
The Senator further appealed to Cross Riverians to avoid any unrest leading up to the Local Government Elections, encouraging them to follow Governor Otu's lead and trust in his capable hands.
He expressed appreciation for the Governor's selection of Hon. Chris Mbu-Ogar as Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, characterizing the appointment as “a square peg in a square hole.”
Speaking earlier, Hon. Mbu-Ogar stressed the importance of maintaining unity under a single leadership, discouraging all forms of balkanization, such as the so-called “Abuja front” and “Calabar front.” He emphasized that Cross River must stand united under Governor Otu’s vision.
He also noted that Senator Williams, with his extensive experience in both state and national governance, is in a vantage position to champion the Governor’s initiatives and advocate for the interests of Cross River State.
Mbu-Ogar sued for sustained efforts to ensure that citizens are better engaged within the federal structure, in line with the federal character principle.
