Senator Williams Advocates For Constructive Criticism To Better C'River

The Senator representing Cross River State Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jones William has called on Public Relations Practitioners in the State to be proud Cross Riverians wherever they find themselves and to constructively criticise the Government with the purpose of repositioning the State for the betterment of everyone.

Speaking while playing host to members of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Cross River State Chapter, at his office in Abuja, Senator Wlliams inferred that Public Relations Practitioners can project or destroy a State. "Do not love the State too much and forget the people," he stated.

According to him, "I am a proud Cross Riverian and I am in the Senate not to represent just the people of the Central Senatorial District but to protect the interest of the entire Cross River State." He advocated for a stakeholders meeting of Cross Riverians irrespective of party lines to brainstorm and efficiently plan out a road map to reposition the State.

Also speaking, the Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Erasmus Ekpang appreciated Senator Eteng for extending the hospitality known with Cross Riverians to the NIPR, despite his busy and tight schedules. He lauded him for his readiness to promote synergy between the National Assembly and the State leadership for the benefits of Cross Riverians.

Hon. Ekpang called on Practitioners of Public Relations to use the various tools at their disposal to truthfully project the goodwill of the Senator and the Cross River State Government, as well as discourage misinformation.

Speaking earlier, the State Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Cross River State Chapter, Mr. Benedict Onah Okache appreciated Senator Eteng for the warm welcome and lauded his people-oriented projects since his assumption of duty in the red chambers of the national assembly.

Mr. Okache solicited for a correlation of the National Assembly and other arms of Government in Cross River to reposition the State and return it to its pride of place as one of the best States in Nigeria for Cross Riverians to wholly benefit from the season of sweetness.
