Rep Member Dedicates Appeal Court Victory To God, Pledges Purposeful Representation... As Ochinke Congratulates Winner

The member representing Ikom Boki federal constituency, Cross River State Central in the House of Representatives, Hon. Victor Abang has described the judgment of the Appeal Court sitting in Lagos which affirmed his victory in the February 28 National Assembly Elections as an act of God.
The federal lawmaker stated this while reacting to the Court of Appeal judgment which upheld an earlier ruling from the Election Petition Tribunal which declared him as the winner of the federal constituency seat ahead Barr. Attah Ochinke of the PDP whose case was dismissed for lack of merit
Speaking during a telephone interview, Abang asserted that ; I remain grateful to God for the victory. It was an ordeal and stressful journey that became a major distraction to the discharge of my official engagement. I am happy it's now over with the ruling of the appellate court with constitutional jurisdiction over the matter"
" I heartily accept the congratulations of my brother and learned gentleman, Barrister Attah Ochinke, even though I wish the gesture had come earlier. I plead with our people to discontinuance all political differences, election and court cases are over, let's unite as a family and chart the way forward to better the lives of our constituency"
Abang pledged to accord priority attention to the nagging challenges facing his constituents through effective collaboration with relevant government agencies and people-oriented legislation capable of projecting the peculiar needs of the federal constituency to the front burners.
He posited; "We have done a comprehensive assessment of the immediate needs of our people ranging from inadequate dilapidated classroom blocks, lack of access road network for evacuation of farm produces and capacity building for our teeming youths to promote self-sufficiency etc"
"Our blueprint has been carefully crafted to address these issues through effective synergy. This entails we have to be on the same page to effectively advocate for government presence in our constituency"
Meanwhile, the People Democratic Party, PDP candidate and frontline legal practitioner, Barr Attah Ochinke has expressed optimism in the ability of the Hon Abang to deliver the dividends of democracy to the Boki Ikom federal constituency
The legal luminary who stated this in a statement he endorsed after the court verdict said;" I congratulate my friend, Hon Victory Abang, on his emergence as the Honourable Member representing our federal constituency. I am confident that he will deliver good representation. I pledge to play my part, and provide such support as I can to make his tenure a success"
