PRESS RELELASE: UNICAL  Promotes 7 Academic Saff To Professors ... Anounces 16 As Associate Professors

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has announced the promotion of 23 Academic Staff to the Professorial cadre in the institution.

Prof. Obi, who announced the elevation at the 241st Senate Meeting of the University of Calabar held at the Senate Chamber of the Citadel of Learning, disclosed that 7 Professors and 16 Associate Professors were beneficiaries of the promotion exercise.

Those elevated to the status of Professors include; Dr Uduak Effiong Williams, (Internal Medicine), Dr Ekei Victor Ikpeme,( Genetics& Biotechnology), Dr Godwin Iwuchukwu,( Linguistics & Nigerian Languages), Dr Oben Bassey Ogar,( Modern Languages & Translation Studies), Dr Veronica Ebi Odey, (Modern Languages & Translation Studies), Dr Uti Egbai ( Philosophy) and Dr Inah Eteng Okon (Geography & Environmental Science).

The list of Associate Professors include; Dr Cajethan Emechebe ( Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Dr Maurice Ekpenyong (Microbiology), Dr Emmanuel Olose (Psychiatry), Dr Aribo Okpata (physiology), Dr Philomena Asuquo (Oceanography) and Dr Moses Agana (Computer Science).

Others are; Dr Stella Bassey (Human Nutrition and Dietetics), Dr Gloria Igri Okon (Modern Languages & Translation Studies), Dr Esther Archibong (Social Work), Dr George Atelhe
( Political Science), Dr James Etim Archibong ( Jurisprudence & International Law) and Dr Rosemary Osim (Educational Management).
Dr Samuel Takon ( Banking & Finance), Dr Hodo Riman (Banking & Finance), Dr Eyo Emmanuel Essien (Marketing) and Dr Stella Osim complete the list of Associate Professors).

The Vice-Chancellor congratulated all the newly promoted Staff and wished them well in all their endeavours as they continue to give their best to society and mankind.
