Ogoja Clan Heads Hail Senator Jarigbe Agom's Ultramodern Bridge Construction

The clan heads of Bakor extraction in Ogoja have hailed Senator Jarigbe Agom for the construction of the ultramodern bridge bridge across Mmol river in Ukpagada, Ogoja.

The royal fathers who paid a working visit to the construction site of the bridge expressed satisfaction over the level of work adding that the bridge will bring succor to the people.

Speaking on behalf of the royal fathers, the clan head of Ukpe and chairman ikom-ogoja bakor traditional rulers council  Ntol Julius Ayate said the construction of the bridge is one of this wonders he thought he will never happen during his reign.

Ntol Ayate described the bridge as demand driven and an example of the dividends of democracy which will ease movement from Ibil to Bansara and other adjoining communities.

An Elder of Ukpagada community who received the entourage Mr. Gabriel Alim explained that the bridge was destroyed during the Nigerian Biafra War by the Biafrans and since then had remained that way.

He further explained that due to the necessity, the road was diverted in 1972 to another route but with the construction of the bridge, the road which is shorter than the diverted route will be put to use again.
