Methodist Archbishop Seeks FRSC Partnership On Safe Driving, Entrepreneurship

The Archbishop of Methodist Church, Diocese of Calabar, Most Reverend (Amb.) Chimezuo Nwakpa, has sought partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Calabar in the area of Church advocacy campaign against reckless driving as well as establishing a skill aquisition centre for female staff of the Corps in various skills so as to reduce the dependency on paid employment.
The Clergyman made the partnership initiative known during a courtesy visit on the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Istifanus Andesaba Ibrahim in his office as part of the Church's corporate social responsibility in promoting safe driving and creating a crash free society in Cross River State.
The Archbishop also prayed for the safety of Road Safety operatives on the road as well as urged the Officers and men of the Corps to work in line with the operational guidelines of the FRSC.
Responding, the Sector Commander, Cross River Sector Command, Corps Commander Istifanus Andesaba Ibrahim, appreciated the Archbishop for deeming it necessary to visit his office in a bid to deepen road safety awareness and create entrepreneurship. He further assured him of the Command's willingness to effectively partner with Methodist Church in realizing the purpose of the visit.
The Sector Commander informed the Archbishop of the Corps' preparedness in clamping down on rickety vehicles within this ember months and beyond and also revealed that the relationship between the Corps and the Christian community in the state will further help in promoting a responsible driving populace in Cross River as well enhanced a seamless public enlightenment campaign in churches.
