Let's Synergise For Our Common Good, Governor Umo Eno Tells AKISAN

Akwa Ibom indigenes living in the diaspora have been admonished to contribute their quota 

to the developmental aspirations of their state by sharing their wealth of knowledge, and expertise while collectively aligning with the ARISE Agenda of the present administration to boost the progress of their motherland.

Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno gave the charge during the 36th Annual AKISAN Convention in San Diego, United States of America themed: "Connect, Inspire and Establish: Establishing Limitless Potential in the Next Generation to Excel Beyond Boundaries in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths (STEAM).” 

Governor Eno, who was represented by his wife Pastor Patience Umo Eno, applauded the Association for their keen interest and absolute belief in his vision for the state as encapsulated in the ARISE agenda.

According to the Governor, the present administration is keen on exploring a robust synergy with Akwa Ibomites in the diaspora for the exchange of ideas needed to usher in trending innovations in our health care, tourism, and agricultural sector."

Pastor Eno expressed the readiness of his administration to work closely with all Akwa Ibomites in the diaspora with the view of exploring their reservoir of knowledge and expertise to accelerate the socio-economic advancement of the state."

"Seated in this hall are people of diverse skills and contacts, and my charge to you is simple: Please use your skills, exposure, contacts, and connections to bring investors to our State," he stated.

The Governor informed the Association of the appointment of one of their members, Ms. Linda Umoh as his Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs and noted that her engagement is expected to ensure seamless collaborations from the diasporans with the State. "We have hit the ground running and a little over two weeks ago, we launched the first-ever Akwa Ibom Dialogue. It was an event that brought Akwa Ibomites from home, in the diaspora, and other policy experts across the national landscape to dissect, analyze and have input in the evolution of the Roadmap of our government Blueprint, the ARISE Agenda. 

"ARISE Agenda is an acronym that stands for: Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructural Maintenance and Advancement, Security Management, and Educational Advancement. These five aspirational layers are further broken down into 18 focal sectors, each addressing specific needs of our people and aimed at further lifting the needle of development in our dear State," he disclosed. 

He expressed appreciation to the ground for the massive support he enjoyed during the polls which resulted in his landslide success and his subsequent swearing-in as the Governor of Akwa Ibom He further applauded AKISAN on the various initiatives aimed at harnessing the talents of the Akwa Ibom people which he said reflects on the theme, and expressed confidence that the Leadership of Ms. Umoh would boost existing synergy between the association and the growth of Akwa Ibom State.
